St. Martin Events & Attractions

Caribbean people love to celebrate! No matter which island you go to you are likely to find yourself close to someone dancing to original salsa, seductive jazz or sexy rumba. Caribbean festivals are famous for being vivid and passionate, filled with live music and dance, King and Queen elections and street parades. Carnivals are clebrated all over the year by wearing masks and rich, colorful costumes. Anywhere you go in the Caribbean you will experience the diverse culture and the ethnic blend of Spanish, Dutch, Indian and African heritage.

Our favorite and not-to-be-missed festivals are: Reggae Sumfest held in July in Jamaica, Junkanoo held in December in Nassau, Bahamas, Port of Spain's Carnival in Trinidad & Tobago and Santiago's Carnival in the Dominican Republic.

It's just a short drive through the Dutch capital of Philipsburg to the kick-off location. In Grand Case, a friendly crew will welcome you onboard the Seaworld Explorer, a state-of-the-art semi-submarine developed in Australia for use on the Great Barrier Reef. Enjoy the scenic cruise through the harbor to the unique geological formations of Creole Rock. After that, it's time to see the undiscovered St. Martin...underwater! The vessel does not submerge; you descend into the hull of the boat and sit in air-conditioned comfort five feet below the surface of the water, exploring sea life in this underwater observatory through large, clear glass windows.
