St. Lucia Travel Tips

St. Lucia's Soufriere volcano features the only drive-in crater in the world. The bubbly, steaming sulphur springs are quite a sight to see! The drive-in-volcano gives clues to how the island was formed.

St. Lucia's most distinctive landmarks are the twin peaks of the Pitons that rise majestically out of the sea. The Gros Piton is excellent for hiking. The climb averages 2 hours to the summit and rewards those that make it with spectacular views of the island and the Petit Piton. The Petit Piton is quite different in that there are no marked hiking trails. Although no guide is mandatory, you would be well served finding a local that knows the route.

St. Lucia's exotic coastline offers plenty of opportunities for diving, snorkeling, whale watching, yachting and hiking.
